Water Drop

In Processing, a damped oscillation equation simulates a wave. When an ultrasonic sensor detects an object within a threshold distance, the microcontroller triggers a wave that gradually flattens.

Application

Pedestrians passing by trigger the wave, which is projected in real time onto a wall and acoustically amplified by the sound of a water drop. Powered by a cargo bike and battery, the installation can be deployed anywhere without infrastructure.
